When Seattle’s beloved indie folk band Fleet Foxes released their second studio album “Helplessness Blues” in May 2011, they blew past the ‘sophomore slump’ like it was nothing. At 206 we are not only fans, but we’ve been working with the band since the beginning of 2011 to redesign their website and take it to the next level prior to the album release. The site, built in HTML 5 with Expression Engine content management  tool, incorporates a randomized, full-screen video background theme which we worked with Sean Pecknold to create.  There is also a Foxes Television feature which utilizes YouTube playlists and allows the Fleet Foxes themselves to update custom content and add new videos they’re into while they travel the globe. Web traffic the week the new album and tour were announced was incredible and has continued to thrive with the attention “Helplessness Blues” has received, including a recent nomination for Best Folk Album for the 54^th Grammy Awards which will be held February 12, 2012.
